Narendra Modi's 'amazing MSP increment' resembles band-help for 'enormous drain', says Rahul Gandhi

New Delhi: Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Friday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "fabulous MSP increment" for ranchers resembles applying band-help to a "huge drain". Naming it negligible "promoting", he contrasted the MSP climb and the ranch advance waiver of the Karnataka government.

Gandhi portrayed the Karnataka government's drive an "activity" that will push ranchers to the tune of Rs 34,000 crore against Modi's Rs 15,000 crore planned for India's 120 million agriculturists. "PM's terrific MSP increment is planned at just Rs 15,000 crore for India's 120 million ranchers; which resembles applying a Band-Aid to a huge discharge." "To put this MSP increment in context: in Karnataka, we've deferred little agriculturist advances of more than 34,000 crore! Showcasing Vs Action," he said on Twitter. 

The Karnataka government on Friday declared a ranch advance waiver of Rs 34,000 crore for agriculturists of the state. The Modi government had on Wednesday declared a Rs 200 climb in MSP for paddy.
