Bhavishya Purana, the Vaivasvan temple at Konark is one of the sun temples built by Samba

According to the 17th Sinha Sankranti / Bhavishya Purana, the Vaivasvan temple at Konark is one of the sun temples built by Samba, the son of Lord Krishna.

Sun Temple of Orissa: -

According to Bhavishya Purana, Samba, the son of Lord Krishna, built many sun temples. It also has the Sun Temple of Konark. According to a few historians there, King Narasimha Dev of the Eastern Ganga dynasty first built this sun temple in the thirteenth century. This temple is a unique example of ancient Oriya architecture. The Sun Temple is designed in such a way that it attracts all the people. The sun is considered a symbol of energy, life and knowledge. It is mentioned about the structure of this main temple that in its sanctum sanctorum the idol of the sun god was swaying in the air due to magnetic influence above and below. In the morning, the sun's rays fell from the arena in front of the present sanctum sanctorum and fell on the idol in the sanctum sanctorum.

Modhera Sun Temple of Gujarat: -

The world famous Sun Temple of Modhera is located on the banks of the river Pushpavati, 100 km from Ahmedabad. This temple was first built by Emperor Bhimdev Solanki. Sun Temple of Uttarakhand: -

Katarmal Sun Temple is located at a place called Katarmal in Almora, Uttarakhand. This Surya Mandir is the largest, tallest and unique temple of the Kumaon Mandal as a whole. It is also the only ancient Sun Temple after the Konark Sun Temple in Orissa. The temple has been declared a protected monument by the Archaeological Survey of India. The temple is believed to have been built in the ninth or eleventh century. This Sun Temple is also called Bud Aditya Sun Temple. The idol of Lord Aditya in this temple is not made of any stone or metal but of wood. The entrance to the sanctum sanctorum of the temple was also made of carved wood, which is now housed in the National Museum, Delhi.

Sun Temple of Rajasthan: -

The second twin city of Jhalawar, Jhalarapatan is also called the City of Wales. The Sun Temple located in the center of the city is a major tourist attraction of Jhalarapatan. This temple is also very special in terms of architecture. It was built in the 10th century by the Parmar dynasty kings of Malwa. There is also a statue of Lord Vishnu in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. It is also called Padmanabha Temple. Apart from this, there is a Sun Temple made of white marble in Nagar style in Ranakpur, about 98 km from Udaipur. Which presents a unique example of Indian architecture.

Sun Temple of Uttar Pradesh: -

The Sun Temple of Mahoba in Uttar Pradesh is located on the west side of Rahila Sagar. The temple was built by Chandel ruler Rahil Dev Varman by digging a lake. This lake is known as Rahila Sagar. It was built from 890 to 910 AD. Meanwhile built in the 9th century. The architecture of this temple is very beautiful. The temple was severely damaged in 1203 by Qutbuddin Abq.

In Uttar Pradesh, there is a Sun Temple at Pratapgarh, about 42 km from Allahabad. According to archaeologists, the temple was built in the 8th-9th century. Folk belief is that the temple was demolished by the Muslim rulers. Alexander Cunningham, the first surveyor general of the Archaeological Survey of India, visited the Sun Temple and Tusharan Vihar.

The temple also has a picture of deities with vines and leaves. There is a huge Shivling above the temple. It is about 4 feet wide and 7 feet long. To the north of the Shivling is a black stone idol of the Sun God. The idol has a wheel, a flower and a conch in one hand and the other hand is in a state of blessing.
