Gujarat Council of Educational Research and Training (GCERT) is a leading institution at the state level for enhancing quality education in primary and secondary schools.

These DIETs have Coordination (IFIC) and Planning and Management PMs. These DIETs are equipped with qualified and experienced academic and administrative staff.


The state education ministry also focuses on its expertise. The Council is committed to bringing about qualitative improvements in school education, especially elementary education, curriculum development, instructional materials and evaluation strategies to find appropriate solutions to educational challenges with changing times. G.C.E.R.T. Has made a unique journey through experiments from chalk to satellite to the difficult terrain in the field of educational reform.



Prior to 1988, it was the State Institute of Education. It was later upgraded to SCERT in 1988 under a resolution of the State Education Department. The Upgraded SCERT, now known as the Gujarat Council of Educational Research and Training (GCERT), is a fully-fledged state-level educational institution and is managed and guided by a board of directors as well as an executive committee.




G.C.E.R.T. Acts as the leading organization for implementing policies, programs, and research in the state. It provides resource support and guidance to all teacher education institutions and works in collaboration with NGOs, subject matter experts, educators, and pioneers for improvement in remote and underdeveloped areas of the state.

They get great feeling, pride and true joy in their lives by teaching their students on the right path.
