GSEB curriculum low: Gujarat Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (GSHSEB) has decided to reduce the curriculum from 9th to 12th class for the academic year 2020-21 in view of the ongoing coronavirus epidemic situation. In addition, GSEB 10th exams 2021 and GSEB 12th exams 2021 will be held on May 21 and Class 9 and 11 exams will be held in June next year. This decision was made keeping in view the course load on the students.
Talking about the decision to reduce the curriculum, state education minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama said, "Schools have been closed since March and classes are held online. Considering the difficulties faced by students and parents, we had four meetings with academics where parents are concerned." And the students discussed about the exams and courses. We have decided that the exams of class 10, 12 will be held on May 21 and the exams of class 9,11 will be held in the month of June. Is the curriculum for grades 9 to 12 for 2020-21. "
According to sources, earlier students and parents had submitted that they demanded to rationalize the curriculum which eventually led to a discussion and a decision to reduce the curriculum by about 30%. This means that the exam papers will not have questions from this 30% part. The decision was made so that the study would be less stressful for the students and they could better prepare for the board exams, officials said.

According to GSHSEB, the education department held various meetings on July 23, August 20 and September 11. The opinion of academics was also sought in this regard. However, these standards can be relaxed in mountainous and difficult areas. Especially in such areas, residential schools can be established.
- To ensure that no one is deprived of satisfactory quality secondary education due to gender, socio-economic disability and other barriers
